		<description>Hi Kyle,

I don't get over to your blog much, I'm sorry to say, and I'm also sorry to hear about your misfortune. You sure took it really well though. It's not easy for me to read these kinds of things because I'm squirmish about them, but I wanted to let you know that I enjoyed reading your post as it kept me engaged and interested through the very end. Great job.

I hope you're feeling better already. That's got to hurt and be a bummer.

Cheers my friend,

<description>Complete protection is indeed a myth. The problem is that no matter what you do, even with the implementation of VERY expensive DRM solutions, someone who really wants a copy will get it. At the most basic, you can use Camtasia or some other screen capture software to record a video during playback.

The real concern is protecting bandwidth. Making sure the video URLs are protected. Amazon provides something called Query String Authentication, which gives you the ability to generate URLs that automatically expire after a certain time. This can prevent anyone from sharing the video URLs, or worse, embedding a video on their own site while you pay S3 for the bandwidth fees! Using QSA is pretty simple. Just a bit of PHP code will do it. A friend of mine taught a webinar a few months ago and showed exactly how to get this done. He even gave sample PHP code you can copy and paste. In addition, he developed a WordPress plugin to make it dead simple to embed videos securely in a WordPress site (think membership site).

You can find the webinar recording here: http://www.s3flowshield.com/s3webinarrecording

The plugin is on that same site, on the main page.

BEWARE: Anytime you set the file rights (ACL) to Read by Everyone (or All Users Can Read), you have just opened yourself up to trouble. It means anyone can get the URL to your file and either download or embed on their own site!!! QSA, as explained above prevents this.

Just a couple of quick comments on EZS3. Seems like a cool service, but what I don;t like about it is the fact that you are completely tied to them. Since the embed codes they give you call their service, if you ever cancel your account, your videos on all your sites will stop working. Cool for them, crappy for the customer. I much rather have the choice of what to do without being tied to a specific provider. That's why I like the plugin I mentioned above. It runs on my server and I am not dependent on anyone else.

<description>Thanks... Fear gives me bounderies, I have been held captive of it for years and is with me everyday. I appreciate your suggestion, I will go against what I fear and start to grow again. I have never seen it that way, It is in the way you think.

		<description>Hey there Ahmed,

You are right and there is no 100% fool proof way to prevent anyone from stealing your video but from what I have seen with some of our membership sites so far using EZS3.com has helped us protect out content more effectively than the FREE options available online to host video.

As long as a member has paid to get my content then I am not really worried about it.

Hope that helps!

<description>Unfortunately, it doesn't really seem possible to "really" protect content. I was looking for that, but I found this
