Recently Tellman Knudson and Shawn Casey conducted a HUGE re-launch of the Listbuilding Club and about 3 weeks before pre-launch started we were charged with the task of moving the OLD Listbuilding Club to a brand New Membergate membership site platform (its been online for 3 years now and we’ve been adding new videos and content to it every month since we started it so it outgrew its old software - Amember).

We had to hurriedly transfer all the content from the Old Listbuilding Club and put it in the NEW listbuilding club which was a Brand New Membergate site running the latest version of their software.

Myself, Tellman, Shawn, and the rest of the Overcome Everything team were a little worried about the last minute nature of the transfer to the Membergate Membership website software but we all agreed it was the best option for our members moving forward (for better site navigation, the new forums, the social networking applications, and for a host of other reasons Membergate was jsut WAY better than any other membership site option out there).

A MAJOR CONCERN we had was running a Full Scale launch on the Membergate software and as fas as I knew I don’t think anyone had done a Massive, affiliate partner powered launch with heaps and heaps of web traffic pummeling the sales system.

Not to mention, we were the first people to be testing the brand new One Click Upsell functionality of the Membergate software and we had plenty of other shopping cart software break on us under the pounding pressure of millions of website visitors within a condensed time frame.

I recently came across a really cool video resource that you should know about if you use Video on your websites in any way, shape, or form. 

You see, on a couple of the websites I work with we have been using video and have run into quite expensive video hosting issues (because with all the views of the videos bandwidth was being chewed up significantly and it was getting expensive). 

The problem was that we needed to keep these videos protected and private so using You Tube or Viddler was not an option (we had people paying good money to be part of a membership sites so we couldn’t actually use these services because our members would get upset). 

The answer was presented to me at the recent Membership Website Success seminar by Tom Cone and Steve Hicks and it is called EZS3.  It is a paid service that allows you to tap into the power of Amazon S3.

Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service) is an online service provided by Amazon.com, that allows web designers to store large amounts of data online.

S3 is free to join, and is a pay-as-you-go sevice, meaning you only ever pay for any of the hosting and bandwidth costs that you use, making it very attractive for start-up companies looking to minimize costs.

On top of this, the fully scalable, fast and reliable service provided by Amazon, makes it highly attractive to web designers all over the world.

Amazon offers S3 as a hosting system dependent on your geographic location, currently offering datacenters in the US and Europe. Prices of the service are dependent on your location, but are currently set as follows:

There is no limit to the amount of storage and bandwidth you can use on your Amazon S3 account, meaning it is a fully scalable to your needs.

Amazon has also built the S3 service to be very reliable, and guarantees server uptime of 99.99%. This claim is backed up by a service level agreement, whereby the user is entitled to a service credit if the service ever drops below this guarantee.

So Why Should You Use It?
